Fire in Glasgow pub being treated as deliberate by police as probe launched

An early morning fire in a Glasgow pub is being treated as wilful by police.

The blaze happened at around 6.15am yesterday (January 3) at The Dalmarnock Inn on Old Dalmarnock Road.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene of the incident, where they remained for around six hours.

The source of the fire or the extent of any injuries is currently unknown. However, officers confirmed they are now treating the blaze as deliberate, the Daily Record reports.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15am on Monday, 3 January, officers were called to a report of a fire at a building on Old Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing and the fire is being treated as wilful.

"Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 quoting reference 0491 of 3 January.”
