Fire in city centre apartment after pot left on hob

Brave members of Dublin Fire Brigade rescued a person from a scary incident in a city centre apartment overnight.

The apartment filled with smoke after a pot was left on the hob.

To gain entry to the apartment and conduct the rescue, firefighters used breathing apparatus and forcible entry tools.

A number of fire trucks and members of An Garda Siochana were at the scene.

Dublin Fire Brigade said on social media: "Firefighters rescued a person from their city centre apartment in the early hours of this morning.

"The apartment was filled will smoke, it is thought that a pot left on the hob was the source of the smoke.

"Firefighters used Breathing Apparatus and forcible entry tools."
