Fire hits synthetic fibre factory in Bang Pu

SAMUT PRAKAN: A fire broke out at a factory producing synthetic fibre parts for vehicles in Muang district on Saturday night. Nobody was hurt and damage is being assessed.

Pol Lt Col Prachuap Khetsanthia, the Bang Pu police chief investigator, said the incident occurred at about 10pm at the factory of New World International Limited Partnership in tambon Bang Pu Mai.

Five fire engines from Bang Pu and nearby municipalities were rushed to the factory to combat the fire.

When the firefighters arrived, factory workers were trying to put out the fire buring machines producing synthetic fibre parts for vehicles with chemical extinguishers. They managed to put out the fire in one hour after two machines and parts of the factory, including the roof, had been damaged. Nobody was hurt.

The actual damage was being assessed.

Investigation was underway to establish the cause of the fire.
