Fire-hit Ardeer Thistle get cash boost from hastily arranged Johnstone Burgh friendly

A fundraising friendly for a junior football club who saw their ground set on fire has raised £275.

Johnstone Burgh hosted Ardeer Thistle on Saturday with all gate receipts going to the Ayrshire side.

The money will help Thistle repair their hospitality suite which was badly damaged by firebugs.

The Keanie Park benefit game was the latest in a long line of fundraising efforts following the blaze on Tuesday, April 9.

Several Junior teams have chipped in including fellow Ayrshire side Hurford United who donated £164 from their matchday raffle.

A GoFundMe page has already raised £740 - far exceeding it's initial £500 target.
