Fire erupts near Churchgate station in Mumbai; none hurt

MUMBAI: A fire erupted near Churchgate railway station gate number 3 ahead of Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk on Thursday afternoon.

Locals said that the blaze was in garbage that was lying unattended on the east side of the railway station premises.

Around 1.56pm the fire began and smoke from it started entering into the station building.

Four fire engines, water tankers, ambulance and ward level civic staff rushed to the site.

Railway staff started pouring water from inside the building to control the situation till the fire brigade arrived at the site.

Fire brigade teams, who arrived within a few minutes, were able to control the situation.

No person was injured in the incident.
