Pupils have been sent home following a fire at a Renfrewshire secondary school earlier today.
Trinity High School in Renfrew was evacuated after the fire alarms sounded this morning around 9.15am.
The Paisley Daily Express understands a blaze in the male toilets at the Glebe Street school was responsible for the drama.
Two fire engines rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire before serious damage could be done.
Renfrewshire council say the school will open as normal tomorrow.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 9.17am on Monday, October 10 to reports of a small fire within Trinity High School premises on Glebe Street, Renfrew.
"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances where firefighters extinguished the fire. Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: "We have had to close Trinity High School today due to a small fire. There is no significant damage to the school but we are investigating the cause. Clean up is underway.
"All pupils have been sent home, with either parents and carers advised to collect them as required or pupils taking transport.
"It's intended that the school will be operational as normal tomorrow. Unless we text you later today, your child should present for school as normal tomorrow."
