SONGKHLA: A fire broke out in a community in Hat Yai municipality on Saturday night, burning down three houses, police said.
Pol Col Kittichai Sangkhathavorn, the Hat Yai police chief, said the fire started at about 8pm in an old two-storey house and spread to two wooden row houses in the Chok Saman Community near Wat Khok Saman Khun temple.
Eight fire engines were able to bring the fire under control after about an hour, preventing the fire from spreading further to shops and factories nearby.
