Fire damages carriages at Old Town stable, no horses hurt

Feb. 06--A fire at at an Old Town horse stable destroyed or damaged 13 carriages early Friday, but no horses were injured, police said.

The blaze started at the Noble Horse Theatre, 1410 N. Orleans St., around 1:25 a.m., police said. It was contained to an area away from the animals, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

Several burned carriages could be seen outside next to the building. Police and fire officials said the fire appeared accidental, possibly electrical.
