A grass fire is burning near the New England Highway at Liddell in the Hunter Valley.
The NSW Rural Fire Service says multiple crews are responding to what is a four-hectare fire.
The fire is burning a few kilometres east of the Liddell and Bayswater power stations.
A spokesperson from the Hunter Valley Fire Control Centre said the fire, which is listed at advice level, is burning on land at the Ravensworth mine site.
They said the fire is under control.
The highway is not closed but traffic is heavy through the area.
