Fire crews tackle large blaze on Kinross High Street

Fire crews have raced to the centre of Kinross today to tackle a large blaze at a three-storey building.

Smoke has been recorded billowing from the roof of the building on High Street, where the town’s only computer retail store and repair shop, FIFE Computers, is based on the bottom floor.

Locals reported the fire just after 10am.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines and one height vehicle to combat the flames.

Fire crews remain at the scene to battle the fire and no casualties have been reported.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.12am on Thursday, August 5 to reports of a property on fire at High Street, Kinross.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and one height vehicle to a fire affecting a three storey building.

“There are no reported casualties and crews are still at the scene.”
