Fire crews tackle industrial unit blaze in South Dublin

Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at an industrial unit in South Dublin on Monday evening (July 4). Crews attended to tackle the fire at a unit in the village of Newcastle, in the south-west of the county.

Dublin Fire Brigade posted dramatic pictures from the scene to Twitter on Monday night, showing what appeared to be a large industrial vehicle well ablaze, and firefighters dousing the flames with a hose as smoked billowed from the charred remains. The crew worked quickly to bring the flames under control, prevent the spread of fire to nearby buildings and make the scene safe.

In a post at 9.45pm on Monday, the brigade said: "Firefighters were called to a fire at an Industrial unit in #Newcastle Co. Dublin this evening. Crews worked quickly to prevent the fire spreading to nearby buildings."
