Fire crews still at scene after 'hazardous' Clydebank blaze

Fire crews are still on the scene hours after a huge blaze took hold at a Clydebank business park yesterday evening.

Firefighters were alerted to the fire at the industrial unit on Hamilton Street, close to Yoker station, just before 6pm yesterday evening.

Three appliances are currently in attendance as of 7:30am this morning, Scottish Fire and Rescue confirm.

It comes after the service confirmed potentially hazardous substances could be at the scene last night.

There are no reported injuries in the blaze.

A spokeswoman for the service said: “We were called to reports of a building on fire at 5.44pm on Wednesday, October 23 on Hamilton Street.

“Operations Control mobilised a number of appliances including a specialised unit due to the potential of the fire involving hazardous substances.

“Crews are still in attendance and are currently working to make the area safe.”
