Fire crews spend three hours tackling blaze at Bolton house

Firefighters spent three hours tackling a blaze at a house in Bolton yesterday afternoon.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a property on Tomlinson Street in Horwich at around 1.45pm on Thursday (August 6).

Three fire engines, including from Bolton Central and Farnworth, all attended the scene.

The blaze started inside a first-floor bedroom in a mid-terraced property.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a house fire on Tomlinson Street, in Horwich, Bolton, on Thursday 6 August at around 1.44pm.

“Three fire engines, from Bolton Central and Farnworth, attended. The fire involved the first-floor bedroom of a mid-terraced property.

“Fire crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a gas detector, a ladder and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

“Fire crews were in attendance for around three hours.”
