Five fire engines were scrambled to a multi-storey hotel fire in Trafford this morning (Wednesday).
Witnesses reported seeing the hotel, in Altrincham, ablaze — with fire and rescue service bosses saying it took crews from the town, Wythenshawe, Withington, and Stockport to get the incident under control.
Eyewitnesses said the Travelodge on Stamford New Road, near to Altrincham Hospital and Minor Injuries Unit, was on fire.
In all, the crews were there for three hours, leaving the scene in the early afternoon.
It is understood that no one was injured in the fire.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 10am on Wednesday, December 22, five fire engines from Altrincham, Wythenshawe, Withington and Stockport fire stations were called to reports of a building fire on Stamford New Road, Altrincham, involving a multi-storey hotel.
“Crews arrived quickly at the scene and firefighters worked to make the building safe.
