Firefighters are battling flames stemming from the top floor of a tenement block in Edinburgh.
Crews scrambled to Ashley Terrace at Polwarth in Edinburgh at 6.27pm today. Four fire engines, three pump appliances and a high-rise vehicle were drafted in to assist with the inferno.
The road remains closed to traffic as Lothian Buses issued a service alert for those using the number 38 route.
It read: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Shandon Place, Ashley Terrace and Gray's Loan and are instead diverted via Slateford Road, Craiglockhart Avenue and Colinton Road in both directions until further notice."
One eye witness captured images from the scene with a high reach appliance being used to extinguish the flames from the top floor of the tenement. Edinburgh Live reports the blaze appears to have occurred just above a solicitors in the area, with the stone surrounding the windows black from the smoke.

Multiple police vehicles were also drafted in to cordon off the area and ensure the safety of the public. The SFRS has confirmed there were no injuries.
It is currently unknown what started the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.27pm on Tuesday, 18 October to reports of a fire at a flat on Ashley Terrace, Edinburgh. Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and one height vehicle and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a third floor flat. “There was no casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
