Fire crews race to tenement blaze in Edinburgh following reports of smoke coming from window

Fire crews raced to a tenement building in Edinburgh this morning following reports of smoke coming from a window.

Crews were alerted to the blaze at a first floor flat on Newhaven Road, near the junction with Bonnington Road, shortly after 6:30am this morning (Sunday 10 November).

Three fire appliances were mobilised to the tenement building, which has four floors, using a high pressure hose was used to extinguish the fire.

It is understood that four people sustained minor injuries in the blaze.
