Fire crews race to house blaze in Fife as smoke billows from roof

Emergency services have this morning raced to the scene of a house fire in Fife.

Police were called to reports of a blaze on St Clair Street in Kirkcaldy around 8am on Tuesday July 6.

Pictures from the scene posted online by Fife Jammers show smoke billowing out from the roof of a property, with officers and fire crews standing by.

Three appliances were scrambled to the blaze, which took place on the top floor flat of a three-storey building.

Thankfully no-one has been injured in the incident, with the fire having been put out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Police were called around 8am following the report of a fire at an address on St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.53am on Tuesday, July 6 to reports of smoke coming from a property at St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a top floor flat of a three-storey building.

“There are no reported casualties and crews currently remain in attendance.”
