Fire crews race to Glasgow tenement fire as smoke pours from building

Fire crews are tackling a raging blaze inside a Glasgow tenement.

Dramatic pictures have shown thick smoke pouring from one of the flats at the building on the city's Cathkinview, in the Mount Florida area.

Four fire engines have been sent to tackle the flames with brave firefighters in breathing apparatus seen going into the building to tackle the flames.

Crews raced to the scene after being called to the blaze at around 9.30pm tonight.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said there were no reported causalities at this time.

She said: "We have four appliances responding to a flat fire at Cathkinview.

"We got the call at 9.29pm to one of the flats on fire. It is currently ongoing.

"There are no reports of causalities at this time."
