Fire crews have raced to a block of flats in Edinburgh's Muirhouse area this afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to a fire in a ground-floor flat on Pennywell Gardens, shortly after 11am.
Three fire appliances and one height vehicle were called to the scene to battle the blaze in the kitchen of the property.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say that one casualty received oxygen therapy before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
The road was closed while crews extinguished the fire and was reopened at around 12pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.04am on Monday, January 13 to reports of a fire at a block of flats on Pennywell Gardens, Edinburgh.
"Three fire appliances and one height vehicle were mobilised to the scene, where crews extinguished a fire in the kitchen of a ground-floor property.
"One casualty received oxygen therapy at the scene, and was thereafter passed into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews left around 12pm."
