Fire crews are currently battling a blaze in the Hamilton area.
A huge plume of smoke has erupted over the town this afternoon after emergency services raced to the scene.
The alarm was raised amid reports of a fire shortly after 1pm today.
Three fire engines were dispatched to battle the flames on Parkburn Court and remain at the scene.
It's understood a blaze has broken out at a commercial garage on the street in the Burnbank area.
The thick black smoke can be seen for miles with locals sharing pictures on social media.
Referring to the smoke, one said: "Looks like tyres/rubber in some form to be that thick and black."
"Hope everyone is okay", added another.
There's not thought to be any casualties.
