Fire crews race to blaze at Edinburgh flat as smoke billows from window

Firefighters have tacked a flat fire in an Edinburgh tenement building.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service went to the incident just before 7am today, Monday December 7, on Albion Road, Leith.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said this morning: “We got the call at 6.55am.

Crews from McDonald Road and Marionville fire stations were in attendance at the scene.

“Crews have used four sets of breathing apparatus and a line of hose to extinguish the fire.”
