Fire crews help person back into house after oven was left on

Fire fighters and police officers responded to an incident on Sunday (July 26) after an oven was left on at a property on Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe.

Officers from Avon Fire and Rescue and Avon and Somerset Police responded to the incident by helping the home owner get back into the property.

PC Joe Iles tweeted: "Called to a block of flats on Bishport Avenue where a report of persons attempting to gain entry.

"It was @AFRSBedminster helping a home owner get back into their address. All in order #Bristol #Police."

Officers from Bedminster Fire Station were at the scene to help the owner of the property back in.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed: "At 00:07, one crew from Bedminster fire station were mobilised to gain access to a property on Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe as the oven was on.

"On arrival, firefighters confirmed the identity of the occupier before gaining access to the property."

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said officers were called at 00:15am on Sunday morning (July 26) attended and concluded there was no crime ongoing or one that had occurred.
