Fire crews close Nottingham Road to deal with car in a ditch

A main road in Clifton was closed for nearly an hour as fire crews rescued a person from a car stuck in a ditch.

Nottingham Road was closed near to the tram park and ride while firefighters used air bags to release the person.

Three fire engines as well as a special engine unit attended the scene just before noon on Sunday, June 16.

It is believed the car ended up in the ditch following a collision with a pedestrian.

No one is thought to be injured.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue were wrapping up at the scene at 1.30pm and preparing to leave.
