Fire crews called to tackle roof fire in Bristol

Fire crews from Temple Fire Station, Chew Fire Station and Bedminster Fire Station were called to reports of a roof fire on a property that was under construction yesterday evening on Novers Hill in Knowle.

Temple Fire Station took to social media to announce they were at the scene of the fire along with the other crews.

They tweeted: "Attended a 5 pump roof fire in a new build property with our friends from @AFRSBedminster @AFRSChew #makepumpsmike #afrs #bluewatch #bristol."

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed that crews were called to the scene of the roof fire in Knowle.

They said: "At 20:49, crews from Bedminster, Temple and Chew were mobilised to reports of a fire on Novers Hill in Knowle.

"On arrival, firefighters found a fire in the roof area of a property that was under construction.

"Crews used eight breathing apparatus for safety, and three high pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.

"The cause is thought to be accidental."
