Fire crews called to flat fire in The Meadows

Fire crews were called to The Meadows after reports of a flat fire.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended Queens Road in The Meadows at 7.18pm on Wednesday, April 29.

Crews from London Road and West Bridgford station were called to the scene. It was a small kitchen fire that was out by the time officers had arrived at the scene.

Crews used a fan to clear the smoke, and one of the occupants, a female, was treated for smoke inhalation.

East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended to help the female. One ambulance was called.

The scene was cleared at 8pm. It is not yet known how the fire started.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "This fire was out on arrival and crews used a PPV fan for smoke clearance. An ambulance was requested for one occupant with smoke inhalation."
