Fire crews battled blaze at Aberdeen Indian takeaway for six hours

Fire crews raced to an Aberdeen street after a fire broke out at an Indian restaurant.

Firefighters battled the blaze at the Shalimar Tandoori on King Street for six hours after the alarm was raised at around 12.45am this morning.

The fire is believed to have started in the roof of the takeaway joint.

Emergency services raced to King Street at around 12.45am (FUBAR NEWS)

There was no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a fire within the roof space of Shalimar Tandoori, King Street at 12.42am.

"Crews were stood down at 6am.

"There have been no casualties."
