Fire crews battle 'wilful' blaze at old Yoker Primary School

A fire has broke out in a derelict primary school building in Glasgow.

Fire crews raced to the site of the old Yoker Primary School on Craggan Drive, where a building went up in flames. The alarm was raised at around 5:50pm.

The fire was brought under control by firefighters at around 7:10pm, who remain at the scene.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed they were in attendance and the blaze is being treated as "wilful."

Black smoke can be seen billowing from the area in pictures shared on social media.

A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to an incident at the derelict Yoker Primary school at 5:50pm today.

"Operations control mobilised four appliances and firefighters are currently still in attendance."
