Fire crews battle Ibrox house inferno for three hours as cops lock down scene

Firefighters have managed to extinguish a terrifying blaze at a property in the Ibrox area of Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Copland Road shortly before 10.30pm on Friday, April 9.

A large cordon was put in place near to Ibrox Subway station, with the road closed off to traffic between Summertown Road and Woodville Street, Glasgow Live reports.

Four fire crews were initially sent to tackle the blaze with an additional two trucks dispatched a short time later.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were able to put out the fire and left the scene at around 1.30am.

They added that there have thankfully been no reported injuries.

A spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a fire on Copland Road at around 10.27pm.

“We initially mobilised four appliances and then another two appliances. The fire has now been extinguished. There were no reported casualties.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
