Fire crews were called to extinguish a blaze in Whiteinch in the west of Glasgow this afternoon after a fire broke out on wasteground in the area.

Emergency services raced to Curle Street, close to the junction with Squire Street, shortly after 4pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have now left the site after successfully extinguishing the fire.

An SFRS spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "There was a small fire out in the open on Curle Street.

"The fire service attended an extinguished it and are now away from the incident."
