Fire crews battle blaze at old community halls in Cardonald

Fire crews rushed to a blaze at the former community halls in Cardonald earlier this afternoon.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the Mosspark Drive building, which houses the old Labour Hall, went up in flames just after 4pm on Tuesday (May 14).

Around 15 firefighters in three appliances were at the scene and plumes of smoke could be seen across the city.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "It's a single-storey building made out of timber which has gone on fire."

The incident had a knock-on effect on traffic in Paisley Road West and surrounding areas.
