Firefighters battled a blaze at a commercial unit in Salford.
At the height of the blaze, seven fire engines were at the scene on Clarence Street in Lower Broughton.
Flames were tackled from above by firefighters on an aerial platform.
A fire service drone was also sent up to monitor pockets of fire and hot spots within the two-storey building from above.
No one was hurt.
Firefighters entered the building wearing breathing apparatus and managed to confine the blaze to just one area of a much-larger complex.
No further details have been revealed.
Fire crews were called to the scene at just after 6pm on Friday - and remained there 'damping down' into the evening.
The incident was later scaled down.
In a statement yesterday, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 6.05pm this evening Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a building fire on Clarence Street, Salford.
"Seven fire engines responded, plus the GMFRS drone unit and the aerial appliance from Manchester Central.
"Firefighters found a two storey commercial building on fire and used breathing apparatus to enter the building and confine the fire to one area of a much larger complex.
"No people were injured in the incident.
"Currently there are three fire engines on the scene with the aerial appliance and they expect to be in attendance for the next few hours damping down the scene and extinguishing remaining pockets of fire."
