Fire crews attend scene of flat blaze

Emergency services have cordoned off a road in Magherafelt this evening after a fire broke out at a set of flats.

Four appliances rushed to the scene in the Rainey Street area shortly after 4.30pm on January 2.

It is understood the flats are above a popular charity store in the Co Derry village.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire Service told Belfast Live there were no reports of any injuries.

They added: "Four fire appliances attended the scene of a flat fire above a charity shop on Rainey Street, Magherafelt at around 4.30pm on Thursday, January 1.

"Fire crews are still in attendance."
