A bushfire has closed three of four Pacific Highway lanes at Coopernook, north of Taree, .
The fire is believed to be under control but motorists are advised to avoid the area as there is no diversion in place.
"All southbound lanes of the highway are closed between Moorland and Coopernook," the Transport Management Centre said.
"1 of 2 northbound lanes of the highway is also closed in the area."
The Rural Fire Service has been contacted for comment.
