‘Fire brigade for that is ridiculous’: Woman locks herself in living room at 1am leaving no choice but to call emergency services

TikTok truly is a limitless fountain of entertainment, there’s something for everyone one be it hilarious cat videos or spooky ghost clips. There’s even videos of people accidentally locking themselves in their living rooms and having to call the fire brigade if that’s the sort of thing you’re after.

And if that is what you’re looking for then you’re in luck as that is exactly what happened to one TikToker’s sister and luckily for us, she documented the whole thing.

“Lilsyloo7” AKA Lils received a call from her sister at 1am after she ended up trapped in the living room. Luckily Lils and her brother were on call and arrived in the small hours of the morning to try and fix the jammed door before their sister expired in the living room (how ironic).

Equipped with tools the pair try everything they can to get the door unlocked but to no avail. They successfully unscrew the handle, allowing them a glimpse into the room and of their sister through the small hole, but the door remains stuck fast.

With no options left, they call for help

Unable to think of an easy solution, the trio decide it best to call the fire brigade to get the door open. We see a fire truck pulling up outside and then fire men enter to deal with the situation, depending on the night they’d had at that point they either found it hilarious or a complete waste of time.

The people of TikTok were certainly not impressed with the decision to call the fire brigade but at least we can assume that Lils’ sister is free at last, although we never actually see her get out so who knows?

“I feel like just kicking the door open was surely better than calling a fire engine,”one person stated, “I am MORTIFIED for you phoning a fire engine instead of kicking the door down,” added another. While calling the fire brigade may have been a slight overreaction it seemingly got the job done.

What’s more is that calling the fire brigade for minor emergencies isn’t seen as being so bad in different places. One commenter explained that “in the UK calling the fire service for this is fine,” as “they’ll put this as non-urgent and go when they have free time.”

Others commented what they would do in the situation, one recommended calling a locksmith while another suggested that they take the pins out of the hinges. While the fire brigade is certainly a valid option, perhaps next time they should consider getting a 24-hour locksmith to come out, or just break the door down.
