Fire breaks out in Redcliffe tower block after plastic utensils left on hob

A blaze broke out in Recliffe tower block plastic utensils were left on a hob.

Firefighters, police and paramedics raced to Yeaman's House at 5:02pm today (Tuesday, December 31).

Upon arrival, crews were told the flames had already been extinguished.

A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We attended a small fire at a flat which was started after plastic utensils were left on a hob.

"The fire was out on arrival.

"Crews from Temple, Bedminster and Hicks Gate were in attendance."

A resident who lived in Yeaman's House contacted Bristol Live saying they spotted several ambulances and fire engines outside the building.

She said: "Everyone is worried in case they have to leave."
