Fire breaks out at Polmont as emergency crews rush to prison

Emergency services rushed to a Scottish prison tonight after a fire broke out.

The (SFRS) were called just before 7pm to the in Falkirk after reports of a blaze.

Three appliances and a height vehicle were sent to scene to deal with the fire which was extinguished by prison staff.

A spokeswoman from the SFRS said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the at 18.48 tonight.

"Three appliances and a height vehicle were sent to the scene.

"The small fire was extinguished by prison officers.

"Appliances from Falkirk, Larbert and Bo'ness were sent."
