Fire breaks out at Milton tower block in early hours of morning

A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after an early-morning fire at a tower block in Milton.

The fire broke out at around 5am this morning at a tower block in Scaraway Drive.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, with a source close to Glasgow Live saying there were three appliances battling the fire.

Police have confirmed there are no casualties, but a 51-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation.

They added enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.

A Police Spokesperson said: "Around 5am on Monday, November 8, police received a report of a fire in a tower block in Scaraway Drive.

"Emergency services attended and a 51-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire."

Scottish Fire and Rescue have also been contacted for comment.
