Fire at Scots property being treated as deliberate by police

A fire at a Scots property is being treated as deliberate by the police.

The blaze broke out in the earlier hours of this morning, Thursday, June 17 after a car was set alight which caused damage to the front door of the property.

Emergency services raced to the scene, and after investigation are treating the fire as wilful.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a fire at a property on Ashgill Road in Glasgow shortly after 12.55am on Thursday, 17 June.

"The fire involved a vehicle parked outside a property and also caused damage to the front doorstep.

"The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and nobody was injured.

"The fire is being treated as deliberate. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

The news comes days after there was a female casualty of a house fire on Westray Street, also in the Milton area of Glasgow.
