PATHUM THANI: A fire severely damaged a drinks factory operated by Oishi Trading Co in Khlong Luang district on Monday morning.

There were no reports of casualties and Oishi Group said the blaze would not affect deliveries.

The fire at the factory in the Navanakorn industrial estate began about 7am, sending workers fleeing to safety.

It was believed to have started at an electricity control box and then spread rapidly through stored cardboard boxes.

Crews from at least 10 fire engines battled the blaze, which took them about an hour to bring under control. Estimates of the damage were still being prepared and an investigation was underway into the cause.

Oishi Group reported to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the fire was at the ultra-heat treatment drink factory of its subsidiary Oishi Trading and would not affect production or deliveries because it had other plants in Chon Buri and Saraburi province.

The Oishi share price was down three baht, or 2.11%, to 139.50 baht at midday on Monday.
