Fire at Bristol pub for third time in as many days

Fire crews have been called to a former pub for the third time in as many days.

A small fire erupted in the old Bell pub, on Prewett Street, Redcliffe, this evening (Wednesday, July 3), but was soon put out.

A total of four appliances from Temple fire station attended, along with the police.

The emergency call was made at 8.32pm and crews arrived within a few minutes.

The fire, which was in the former bar on the ground floor, was extinguished using two 'aquapacks' by 9.18pm.

On Sunday (June 30) the pub also hosted two fires, both of which were being treated by police as suspicious.

This evening a police spokesman said the cause of the latest blaze was being investigated.
