A status orange fire alert has been issued for wildland and forest fires.
With the weather improving and Covid-19 restrictions being lifted people are starting to flock to local wildlands, forests and other beauty spots
However the Department of Agriculture has had to issue a warning over fears of fires breaking out with more people enjoying the natural habitats.
And Dublin Fire Brigade has warned against three particular activities for people to avoid in order to make sure that deadly blazes don't break out.
In a update on Twitter a spokesperson wrote: "There is an ORANGE fire warning in place for wildland and forest fires issued by @agriculture_ie
- No camp fires
- No BBQs outside of designated areas
- Take care with disposing of cigarettes..
"Let's protect our natural habitat."
The warning comes after an army helicopter was called in to assist the fire service in battling a devastating fire in Killarney National Park. last week.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service and Kerry County Council yesterday battled the huge fire in the park, which is believed to have broken out on Saturday around midnight.
The fire was fanned by a strong breeze and concern was raised about the Park's ancient oakwoods in the area near Eagle’s Nest.
The Mayor of Kerry, Patrick O'Connor-Scarteen also commented on the situation, saying: "It’s shocking to see fires destroying parts of Killarney National Park. Thanks to our emergency services for doing all they can to quench it. Under no circumstances should fires be lit at any public parks.
