Fiorentina hand Dusan Vlahovic a transfer ultimatum amid Man City links

Dusan Vlahovic has been told to 'say what he wants' amid reported interest from Manchester City.

The Serbian is currently on fire for Fiorentina having bagged 19 goals in 23 appearances and this record has led to admiring glances from some of Europe's biggest clubs, of which the Premier League champions are rumoured to be among.

Those at boardroom level at the Serie A club appear to be losing some patience with the 21-year-old and are demanding he makes his future stance clear.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via Football Italia, Fiorentina director Joe Barone said: "There is talk about Dusan Vlahovic every day now. We just want to talk about the squad. We’ve already said so much about him, we expect a response from him and his entourage on what the future holds.

"We have our plans and we are activating those immediately.

"I can only talk about what we discussed. Obviously, when last time Rocco Commisso (Vlahovic's agent) was here, the figures were almost doubled, we couldn’t talk about it.

"I had a long conversation with Dusan the other day and I told him we need to understand his path. If he wants to stay at Fiorentina, then sign the contract. If he wants to leave, then say so publicly.

“He can’t string an entire club, city and fanbase along waiting for him. From what I heard, he is not prepared to speak out, so we have to make our decision within the club.”

Barone also said that €80-90m in January may well be enough to entice him away from the Italian club, but added: "Of course, we are ready to evaluate anything that arrives. So far, no offers have arrived."
