Fintona residents urged to "spruce up our space" ahead of Lesser Spotted Ulster's visit to the village

A popular TV series is set to showcase Fintona in the coming weeks, and residents are being urged to "spruce up our space" in preparation.

ITV's Lesser Spotted Ulster is heading to the village, with Joe Mahon and his team set to begin filming there and in surrounding areas in the next few weeks.

The Fintona Community Forum were approached by ITV/Westway Films in advance of the announcement, and in a post on social media the group said: "This is a great opportunity for the town and we would hope you will support us in our efforts to spruce up our main street."

An important part of the popular show is the famous "walk up the town" which provides the perfect opportunity to show off the best of local businesses, residents, and history in the Co Tyrone town.

It's hoped benefits of partaking in the ITV series could include increased investment opportunities and funding for the town.

As a result, the Fintona Forum are calling upon residents of the village to help "promote a sense of pride in our wee town" by getting involved in a spruce up ahead of filming.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, you can get in touch with the Fintona Forum at fintonacommunityforum@outlook.com or by sending a message on Facebook.
