Manchester-based investment platform, interactive investor, has doubled staff numbers to 200 and has launched an apprenticeship scheme to nurture talent in the region.

In the last year, the company which is also known as ii, has invested in new appointments, training and modernising its offices.

The company offers a one flat-fee investment platform providing information, analysis, tools and expert advise to help customers make better informed investment decisions.

CEO Richard Wilson said Manchester provides ii access to talent from its four universities and a supply chain of home-grown talent from well-established financial and technology businesses.

Since the start of 2018, the company has welcomed expertise across the board including new hires in marketing, finance, technology and customer service.

As part of its commitment to nurture talent in the region, ii also launched its apprenticeship scheme, with the first batch of nine employees due to complete their business administration apprenticeships in December.

A further 10 apprentices will join ii in September and it is actively expanding its apprenticeship program to include new streams in digital marketing, technology and accountancy.

Richard says: “Manchester is a growing fintech hub with a wealth of digital expertise and we are proud to be part of this economic powerhouse. ii has grown significantly over the last year and continues to be at the forefront of our industry providing our customers with the best in class service and technology.

“We are delighted to be investing in our team, nurturing them and providing great training and development opportunities as we enhance the services and capabilities we offer our customers.”

He added: “The Company employs graduates and engages with the Greater Manchester universities to recruit students interested in working in the finance and technology industry.

"Following a period learning about our core business, our graduates will move into different areas of the business, tailored to individual development and career aspirations.”
