A teenager is today fighting for his life in hospital after being knifed in a double stabbing in north London.
Police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene outside a Costa coffee shop in Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, on Wednesday evening.
They arrived to find two 18-year-old men suffering stab injuries. Both were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.
One of the victims is in a critical condition and the other's wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.
Shocked witnesses told how officers closed off the popular coffee shop, near Finsbury Park station, and taped off area area surrounding the scene.
One tweeted: "The Met have just closed Costa Coffee by Finsbury Park Station, & ejected the customers, inc me, bc of a stabbing outside.
"The doors are part of the crime scene & now tapped [sic] off."
Pictures from the scene showed police vehicles lining the street, with forensic officers working inside the cordon that was in place in front of Costa.
Blood was seen on the ground outside the shop.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers were called to the scene just before 5pm.
He added: "The condition of one of the men has been assessed as critical; the condition of the second man is not life-threatening.
"There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue."
