A woman has died in an apartment fire in north London.
Police and 25 firefighters were called just after 12.30pm on Saturday to reports of a fire at a second-floor maisonette in Hanmer Walk, Finsbury Park.
London Fire Brigade said firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued one man who was found in an internal staircase and he was taken to hospital.
Crews also found on woman on the second floor who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Part of a maisonette on the second and third floor of a four-storey block was damaged by the fire,” the LFB said in a statement.
Fire crews took an hour to get the blaze under control.
Met Police and the LFB said the cause of the fire is investigation.
