Finnair resumes Helsinki routes from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh

Finnair is now welcoming fully vaccinated UK travellers back onboard flights without quarantine or testing requirements as border restrictions ease.

The Finnish flag carrier is operating up to 21 weekly scheduled services between the UK and Finland in August, with flights from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh to Helsinki.

Throughout the pandemic, the Nordic airline has reiterated how the health and safety of its customers and crew remains its top priority.

Topi Manner, Finnair Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to welcome our UK customers back on board now that travel restrictions have eased. We’re excited to get back to doing what we do best - reconnecting families and friends with loved ones, travellers with incredible destinations - and delivering our fantastic Finnair service to UK travellers once again.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we have the best protocols and procedures in place to safely welcome travellers back on board and we’re definitely ready.

“Safety measures such as mask requirements, additional cleaning, and changes to our onboard service have already been in place for quite some time and will continue to provide customers with peace of mind and reassurance to fly safely.”

Upon arrival in Finland, all UK visitors will need to show proof of full vaccination, such as their NHS App Covid Pass, a vaccination status letter or their NHS vaccine paper card.

Finland is currently on the UK government’s amber list, meaning fully vaccinated travellers can return from Finland without the need to quarantine.

Earlier this year, Finnair introduced a range of new safety measures including an increased frequency of aircraft cleaning and adaptations to the inflight service to minimise unnecessary movement in the cabin.

These included the mandatory wearing of face masks at all times, by all customers and crew. All Finnair customers also receive a ‘clean kit’ complete with hand sanitiser, surface wipes and an information leaflet, as well as an envelope that acts as a waste container.
