Finn Harps v Shelbourne called off after heavy snowfall

Tonight's Premier Division clash between Finn Harps and Shelbourne has been called off after heavy snowfall last night in Ballybofey.

A 10am pitch inspection was called by Harps but the freezing conditions meant the game could not go ahead.

Some roads around the county were closed this morning after the overnight deluge and, while temperatures are set to pick up during the day, travelling conditions could have remained treacherous.

The League confirmed the postponement on Twitter, saying: "The Premier Division fixture has been postponed due to weather conditions at Finn Park.

"A new date will be announced in due course."

Shels doubled down on the news, stating: "Our game with Finn Harps has been called off due to an unplayable pitch after heavy snow over night.

"We apologize to fans for any inconvenience caused."
