Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan plays down chance of Shamrock Rovers upset

Finn Harps have hit a purple patch in the league after banking 13 points from the last 18 available.

And that is three points more than they managed in their first 22 league games of the season.

But boss Ollie Horgan reckons his side have no chance of pulling off a cup upset away to Shamrock Rovers tonight.

The Hoops lost away to Drogheda United at this stage of the competition last year after taking their eye off the ball.

Horgan expects they will be on their game in Tallaght and said yesterday: “Shamrock Rovers are a top side and are 29 points ahead of us in the table.

“We’ve lost all three league games against them this season and conceded seven goals into the bargain.

“And as well as that we haven’t managed to score against them in any of those matches.”

Horgan continued: “We’ve worked hard this week on the tactical side of things, so we’ll see whether that will be good enough to make us competitive.

“But Rovers will give us a tanking if we’re not at the top of our game. The good recent wins in league won’t get us a result in Tallaght.”
