A garda raid on a house in north Dublin has led to the seizure of €220,000 of drugs and €18,000 in cash along with the arrest of two women.
The search took place on a house in Charlestown in Finglas as part of an investigation into the illegal drug trade on the northside of the capital.
Along with the drugs and cash, bags, weighing scales, cutting knives and documents were also seized.
Both women are currently being held in Finglas garda station and can be kept there for up to seven days.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí have seized €220,000 of Cannabis Herb along with €18,000 in cash and made two arrests following a search operation in the Finglas area on Tuesday, 9th March 2021."
They continued: "Shortly before 10am, Garda units from Finglas Station and Blanchardstown District carried out a search of a house in the Charlestown area. The search was conducted as part of ongoing investigations in to the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in North Dublin Region.
"A large quantity of Cannabis Herb with an estimated value of €220,000 was seized at the location along with €18,000 in cash. A number of other items linked to drugs distribution were also seized including bagging, weighing scales, cutting knives and documentation.
"Two women aged in their 20s were arrested at the scene and taken to Finglas Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. They can be held for up to seven days.
"Investigations are ongoing."
